About
Hi, I'm Pauline - mum of 5, 'nanny' to 5 (so far...), and editor for Raring2go! Hereford and Worcester magazine & website.
There is nothing more frightening for any parent than to find their child has a serious condition - sadly I know this all too well, with first-hand experience. While my son wasn't diagnosed with any type of cancer, the prognosis for his condition was bleak. Our family hit some very dark and terrifying times. We still do. It can be a lonely place, with conflicting information and advice.
When I first discovered The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust, I was relieved to find that families affected by childhood cancer could get so much information and support from this amazing charity, based right on my doorstep. I have been really pleased to be in a position to help spread news of their fundraising events and activities.
When I heard about the corporate challenge I knew I HAD to get involved. Not that I consider myself 'a corporate' - it's just me - I'm a self-employed editor running my own little business with the remarkable UK-wide Franchise that is Raring2go!
There are other self-employed Raring2go! editors just like me across the UK and we always help each other out. As part of a small, amazing team of editors covering The Midlands, I ran this idea by them first - they were all keen to support my efforts in some way. I contacted our Head Office - the immediate response was 'send us your fundraising page' along with offers of other incredible support, for which I am hugely thankful. While I signed up to the challenge as just one editor, I have so much support from the wider Raring2go! team - once again proving how awesome they are!
I'm mum to 5, have 5 grandchildren, and my working life centres around supporting local families with young children too! I provide my Raring2go! Hereford and Worcester magazines free to local parents - their children bring home a copy in their bookbags, thanks to the wonderful primary schools and pre-schools I visit.
I really hope none of my readers ever have to rely on The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust, but I feel I need to do my bit to ensure that they are still there for any who do.
I know times are hard, so please, donate what you can if you can.
And if you can't donate money, why not get involved in other ways? I will be holding a local event or 2, and a raffle - any prizes you could donate for this would be awesome too! Drop me an email [email protected]
Thank so much for your kind support!
