Epona 100 Mile Ultramarathon- my wildest challenge yet for #BeMoreFrank!!
Lesley Lewis
Fundraising in memory of Frank Cleal
My Story
On Saturday 9th May at 6am I'll be toeing the line in Abergavenny for a 100 mile trot around the trails with the occasional hill or 2(nearly 20k feet of ascent) I have 50 hours to complete it but it will be a win for me if I can do it in under 40 & even better if I can finish without needing to switch on my head torch for the second night & get to the Chippy before it closes!!😭 This is my longest adventure to date( 78 miles is the furthest I've gone so far)
I have now been fundraising in memory of Frank since 2021 & so proud to support the incredible work of #BeMoreFrank who offer grants to families facing a child's cancer diagnosis to help with the costs this sadly, inevitably involves. Currently these grants are available in Herefordshire, Powys, Ceredigion, Gloucestershire, Monmouthshire & Worcestershire with the most recent addition of being able to fund a Family Support Worker In Herefordshire so far.
My expectations of fundraising this time are not high because I know I'm mostly going back to the same generous lovely people that you are & who have supported me along my journey right from my very first Marathon back in 2021!!!
However every single pound & penny help to add up to huge amounts in the support that can be given to families facing the worst of times
I'll also be bringing my collection tin to Pilates classes too, starting with my first class post race on Tuesday evening, so please come along & donate whatever you can afford & help me to move my no-doubt aching limbs!!
If you haven't already, please go to read Frank's story on #BeMoreFrank.org 🙏
